Whenever you talk about psychometric profiling people always remember what they are and the label they’ve been given. They say “I’m a ESTJ” in Myers Briggs or “I’m an S” in DISC. The problem with psychometrics is that it is generally negative in its assumptions.
As an example, if you’re an S it means you don’t like conflict which is generally true but what it doesn’t tell you is what your strengths are, other than you’re a team player, caring, empathetic and a good listener. As an S myself, I find that label rather insulting as it implies I’m not brave.
This is absolutely not true and the reason I know this is because I’ve had a Strengthscope profile of myself which does say I’m compassionate and empathetic but also says that I’m creative and courageous. I’ve spent most of my adult life limiting my beliefs about myself because of the labels that have been given to me. Now I know I’m creative and courageous WOW I’m like a child on speed! I keep waking up at 4 am with so many new ideas which I’m bringing to fruition this year including #bebravebestrongbeyou with Chelle and a new client proposition.
